If circumstances permit, I shall certainly be there. Some very topical subjects are being addressed by the speakers as well as some of more general interest. It will be an interesting occasion and like last years it will be worth attending.
Admission is free for members and those who wish to do so may join on the day for next year and obtain free admission to the conference.

It appears all Offices in the organisation are up for grabs, go and you might end up with a job!

The NIHBS is a democratic society and officers are elected each year at the AGM. Openly seeking nominations is part of this democratic process. Most likely some officers will be re elected and there will also be some new faces; this is as it should be.
Why not come along and see for yourself ? You might enjoy the day and "end up with a job"!

The Society is moving to develop regional/provincial committees. This concept has been in existence for some time, but only an AGM gives the opportunity to introduce it. To implement the plan fully will take time; individuals unable to serve on the national committee may well be happy to serve at a provincial level and there are likely to be some on the current national committee who will do so and some who wish to serve on both.
We had our first committee meeting immediately after the conference and one anticipates more being held in the near future when members have had time to consider the proposed changes. Those who retired as officers are now committee members, bye and large matters remained as they were. Mary Hyland continues as the membership secretary, so membership applications/renewals should be sent to her. Jonathan (webmaster) will in due course post information on changes. In passing one can say that he and his fellow Ulstermen are very impressively promoting the native bee in their province - well done.
The most remarkable incident for me was winning 1st prize in the raffle; there was a choice, but it was an easy choice - a Dark Galtee Queen. Thank you Aoife.
