    Hi,

Hoping someone here can solve this issue, have been searching online but to no avail.

When I boot up my macbook and log in to my account, the same log in items always appear - iMessages, Mail and Microsoft Word. It is really annoying and I have been unable to prevent them from loading automatically. The iMessages have always appeared automatically (despite the fact that I haven't had an iPhone for over 2 years), I don't particularly mind the Mail app opening since I would usually check that first anyway but I only installed MS Word recently and definitely do not want it opening as I rarely use it.

I have gone into system preferences and users groups and the only log in items that are listed are Google Drive and iTunes Helper application.

    Any suggestions? Thanks

But do Google Drive and iTunes Helper application open as well as it seems from your post they don't even though they are checked "When I boot up my macbook and log in to my account, the same log in items always appear - iMessages, Mail and Microsoft Word"? Maybe clear the login items and reset the PRAM. Also check if this is occurring in any other users on the computer.

Right click/2 finger click on the item in your dock, then go to options, and then unselect open at login.

I have to type in my password into messages every time I log in. Identity services or something. Very annoying.
