NNID / Wii U DLC Question

So I have a Wii U, there's me and my OH use it. When we had to set up a Nintendo Network ID, I set it up, but I linked it to her Mii as she uses the Wii U more. So I'm looking to switch it back so it's linked to me, which from the looks of things online seems to be no easy task.

With the Mario Kart DLC landing shortly I want to embark on my 1st ever Nintendo DLC adventure. I was logged in as myself last night playing Hyrule Warriors and when I went to click on the DLC it wouldn't open the store as I have no linked NNID account on my Mii.

Does this mean if I download the DLC it will be linked to her Mii as opposed to the console or what? It's all very confusing

Well on our system, the NNID is linked to my profile, but the family does all our MK8 racing on my OH's profile (barely anything unlocked on mine).

I pre-ordered the DLC packs via my NNID when they were announced, but they are also registered as purchased when we access MK8 via the non-NNID profile.

    Hope that helps!

The DLC belongs to your NNID.
Your NNID is associated with a specific Mii on the WiiU, which is Ninties way of tying the NNID to hardware.
You can have multiple NNIDs on a single WiiU, far as I know - I tried to create a 2nd NNID with a UK location to get DLC for Injustice and got pretty far before giving up.

I think your best option is to edit her Mii so it looks like you and has your name, then edit your Mii so it looks like her and has her name. Your NNID is then tied to your Mii. Also, the process might be kind of kinky if you're drunk enough.

On our Wii U, I have one NNID assigned to my profile, my fiancée has her own NNID on her profile.
Anything either of us buys is usable by the other. I bought the Hyrule Warriors DLC for example, and she can also use it.

Ok cool, so if I buy it on her NNID, I can use it? Great success!

Also, is there no way at all to just swap the NNID back to me? We both have different progress saves in certain games

It's making me tear my hair out :(

    Yeah, you can!

Dunno about swapping the nnid though, that might be one for Nintendo Support.

Cool, I sent them a question on it, maybe they can unlink it so I can relink it.

All eShop content is linked to the console and all accounts on the console, it should be there for whatever mii you select, try making a NNID for your mii and just using it then, should work.
