just wondering do many here use damp course over the timbers?

Would have always used it but curious what the general opinion is?

its not now its ten to fifteen years from now that it will help. the preservatives used in the purlins slowly eat into the ssheeting and you'll have drips in no time most of the sheet suppliers stipulate it has to be used with treated timbers.

Always use it here, can look it up later there but a 30m roll was only €3or €4 there a while back, at that price why wouldn't you....

Normally only use the 100mm wide one but when getting stuff the last time they only had the 150mm wide stuff, when i was doing the first timber i folded it over the edge so that it is in behind the gutter aswell. Atleast if any rain falling off the sheet edge gets blown back it won't be soaking the timber

Would you normally put on Damp Course on the ground with 2 felt nails to hold in place on each individual timber or put up timber and roll out DC from end to end .

I normally roll it out on the top of the timber when it's put up

Have done both, try to do it on the ground if we remember but half the time end up doing after,

Ten times easier on the ground and a good flitter of slab nails, otherwise you need to sheet it straight away as the felt will flap
