Started watching this last week. I'm 4 episodes in now and having a great laugh altogether. The show is as mad as a brush and really doesn't take anything seriously at all! It's based on Televovellas which, from waht I've always heard, make our soaps or even stuff like Revenge etc. look stern and down to earth.

It's got everything, comedy, OTT situations, sex and hilarity. I really hope it gets a renewal or a full season pickup. It's the sort of show I really shouldn't like but it's so insane it's hard not to get sucked in!

I'm loving this show too, it's so wonderfully over the top and it just brings it with the surprise plot twists around every corner. I've found myself screeching at the screen and clasping my head in shock so many times. It's a breath of fresh air!

I'm enjoying it too. It's just over the top enough but then dials back the drama nicely for some touching scenes, too. I like that they don't go for the drag this silly thing out for ages when a normal couple would have talked about it ages ago scenarios, too. I really liked Jane and Michael as a couple though - kind of finding it a shame that they're sort of making him into the bad less nice guy.

True though I do thing she was always going to end up with Rafael the way they played it from the start. They just seem to have made it happen a bit quicker than I expected! From what I've heard though ratings don't look good for the show which is a pity. I'm hoping it'll make it to a second season. The casting is great and there are always proper surprises each week. I love the way that a murder has happened but it's not that big a thing! It's more a catalyst for the main plot. All the main cast are great but the actress playing Jane is doing a standup job. She comes across as so sweet and it's that little touch that really pushes the show over the edge. Brilliant stuff!

The show picked up some GG nominations which is a first for a show on The CW so this could help it with a 2nd season renewal

I assume this is like or similar to Ugly Betty

No surprises - this has been renewed for a second season. I'm quite enjoying this, on E4 schedule. I've managed to avoid spoilers so far, and probably wouldn't understand them even I did see them.

Jane's grandmother is quite the character too:
    BIG BALLS OF EVIL!

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Have been watching along at E4 pace too & really enjoying it. I love how over the top it is, makes for really fun watching. Gina Rodriguez is great!

    Rogelio is hilarious

Jane's mother looks the same age as her

Just watched all the episodes shown on e4 so far back to back and I love it! Nobody I know is watching it and I'm raging I've no one to have a natter about this with! I love Rogellio! I think he's hilarious!

I've seen the whole series and love it. I have to say, I think it's the most consistently entertaining show I've seen this year. There's so much going on though, it's hard to keep up, so the narrator is handy, as well as being funny in his own right. Also, I love the way they keep bringing up things that seem like goofs and having some madcap explanation. I wonder how many of these are planned and how many are worked in after they've been pointed out by the audience.

Actually really love this show, unexpectedly good fun!

Starts on 3e at 6pm on Saturday 25th of July

I was so happy watching the premiere. I think, after the summer break this is the only show I'm going to have to find roundabout ways of watching. For others I can just wait, or they're shown very soon over here. I wish this was one of the ones Netflix showed the same week as the US, but they still only have season 1 up.

As v card gone, rename now :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭cailinoBAC

Ha, will be interesting to see what they do with that. I read they're going to cross out that part of name and write in something different each episode. I liked the episode and I'm glad they didn't drag it on for stupid reasons just for the sake of the name!

    That was so unexpected.  Michael...

    I know!:(
We should've known, that too good to be true date, it all going so well...

It sucked though! It was one show where it didn't get dull when they got together as so often happens in other programs. They actually had a good relationship that could have sustained through ups and downs. I think it was a bad move to cut it short.

I have't watched the last 3 episodes....ever since I came across a spoiler. Maybe I'll come back to it later on, if I read that it's still worth watching, or whenever it eventually turns up on Netflix, but I just loved them together so much....so disappointing...

I cried :( not a fan of Jane and Raf pairing so hope not back to them

I always thought Michael and Jane were end game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭cailinoBAC

I know I will cry whenever I get around to watching it. I think I just hope they introduce somebody new rather than Rafael, but it seems like they have a plan for how it will end and despite some deviations they're sticking to it so I assume that'll mean Jane and Rafael.
I really like the actor who played Michael and hope he finds a good follow up role.

The new love interest to delay the now inevitable Rafael endgame. I wonder if that will be the pattern now until they find out they're in their final season.
I haven't been watching since before Michael died, but will rematch season 2 now it's on Netflix, so will probably see all of this next year.

    E4 has dropped it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭cailinoBAC

Maybe they'll have it on Netflix earlier? I haven't watched the last half of the season, but will watch whenever it ends up on Netflix.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭cailinoBAC

So season three is showing up on Netflix but random episodes are missing.

    Back in the US

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭cailinoBAC

Annoying that it's showing weekly on Netflix UK but not Ireland. I'm not as bothered about finding other ways to watch as I was before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭cailinoBAC

Ooook, haven't watched any of season 4 since wasn't on Netflix Ireland and wasn't bothered finding other ways, but now seems like I have a reason to again....

    Season 4 on Netflix now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 89,006 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

Well that final season as a whole was disappointing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭cailinoBAC

I haven't watched it, just read the recaps. I will watch it eventually but assume I'll feel the same.

Season 5 on Netflix. Do I want to watch?
