Section 27 as amended...

    Just got a summons from the Guards this morning for Section 3 and Section 27 (as amened by Section 6 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1984)

    Tried to google the section 27 bit but only came out with 'Penalties'.
    Can anyone shed some light on this section :/ And what does Penalties mean?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Section 3 tells you not to have controlled drugs in your possession and Section 27 outlines the penalties for being guilty of such an offence. Section 6 of the 1984 Act is basically the "new" section 27.

    If it is cannabis, you won't go to jail unless it's your third or subsequent offence. Penalties means exactly what it says on the tin - maximum fine and/or imprisonment for conviction of the offence pursuant to Section 3.
