Hi, looking for any advice possible, I am in my current job almost 4 years, have a contract and permanent position. Work Night shifts for approx. 3 years but recently was asked to do days which I was happy to do as suited me better now, I was told I would get all hours as I was on nights, this was the case for the first few weeks but has recently changed, I am short hours every couple of weeks, I told management I am contracted so should get my full hours but it is falling on deaf ears.

    Any advice please.

Without knowing the full wording of your contract, does it say you will get x amount of hours a week, or up to x amount?

Usually a contract will outline your working hours and as you have changed shifts they may take the approach that you have agreed to altered hours and as such don't have much wiggle room.

My Contract stated I will get a minimum of X amount with possibly more when available, At he min I am not getting what I should be, over the last few weeks I am almost 40 hours short, wish is a lot of lose of earnings.

I would bring it up with the manager then as if you have a min contract hours you should either get these, or get paid for them.

I would ask them if they are assuming that as the shift changed so too did the hours, but in your OP you said they told you that you would get the same hours as before.

I have brought it up with my manager a few weeks ago, I told them my hours were short and I was told to leave it with them they would get back to me, which never happened, and now the next 2 weeks rota is up and its the same again, there is relief staff with no contract with just as many hours as myself.

Is it true that I should be getting paid for my contracted hours?

In some cases it Does happen, but not many.

I would look to speak with hr If your mánager isnt getting it sorted. Look at it this way, if you didnt turn up for work on thier required hours they would not be happy
