Had a pint on draught of 'Finn Irish lager' at the weekend. Nice enough but would't rave about it. Anyone come across it before?

It is brewed in Cumbria (or perhaps Newry) by Cumberland Breweries

Following the success of our brewery in Great Corby, we opened our second brewery in Newry (County Down, Northern Ireland) in late 2013. Based in the old ‘Station Works’ behind Newry train station on the main Belfast to Dublin railway line, our brewery offers views of the Ring of Gullion – a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. At Station Works we craft the latest edition to the Cumberland Breweries portfolio – Finn, an Irish craft lager and this site also houses our packaging facilities for the production of our bottle and can products.

Seems to be brewed in Newry anyway. Not sure if it counts as Irish craft given that it's made by an English company. I'd be surprised if it's a decent lager as well, a lot of breweries these days just slap the word craft onto every new lager they bring out.

Interesting. I've tried a few Cumberland beers and they're just ok, Typical traditional English ales.

What's Newry like for CraftBeer? Any good off licences? I've only been in Stainsburys and it's ok.

No idea on price per pint yet.

I do think that this is the place owned by Norbrook they had a larger out before but I cant remember the name and it was stinking! only sold locally though.

Their overarching parent company is Irish

They had a couple of taps at the Alltech fest. One saying Finn Lager and one in a completely different style saying Finn Pilsner. The brewer told me they were the exact same beer. The third tap said it was a 'Pale Ale' but it tasted the same as the lager. I thought it all tasted like Harp then the brewer told me he used to work in harp. Probably a similar recipe

It's nice but nothing to write home about. At €3.50 for a 4-pack I'll be choosing this over Bud, Carls and Hein.
