My BB i have now is meant be 24meg but its a total joke its so slow . So would it be best to change provider do you think?

You have an 'up to' 24Mb product as the speed is dependent on distance from the exchange. You could contact voda or sky and ask them what speeds they think they can provide, you will have a cooling off period if you switch so you don't have anything to loose really.

What speeds are you actually getting? If you are as close as you say you are and you are not getting upwards of 15Mb/s then you should insist on a line test from eircom.

Cooling off period is where you can cancel your new bb (without penalty) with the provider if you are unhappy with the service. Usually 7-30 days, but you would need to check with the provider before going into contract.

Im getting between 4 and 10 . 10 would be on a very good day , i have rang eircom 30 times in the year contract i had and they always said there was nothing can be done. 1 technition did blame it on the wiring in my house (dirty mains he called it? )

Call eircom ask what speed you are set to, (you can also check this on your router)
Ask them to run a line test also, they should be able to give you results for the line, and make sure you have the correct setup in the house ;)

    Negative: New contract
    Positive: Possibly cheaper monthly cost.

Everything else will be the same.
