Anyone know what the boxes that are bolted to the poles here and there in Charlesland and Farrenkelly road?
They have a door on them with a key hole lock but are also held closed by cable ties.

    Just curious! Thanks.

is there tar box marks on the road near by?

These tar lines in tarmac are sensors and measure traffic and some also measure speeds.

    Probably survey boxes any pics?

No I thought that but there's not. They aren't connected to anything either.

Look like survey box possibly measuring traffic amounts or even cyclists using cycle lane.

Looks like that's all they are.

So you reckon the sensors are yet to be installed?

They are survey boxes to count the traffic volumes, speeds and types.

How does it do this without any (visible) sensors?
Normally there are cables on the road?
    Thanks.

As far as I know they use the Doppler effect via radar to accurately measure the vehicle speed, length and gap (thanks google)

Doppler effect references might be relating to hand held "speed guns"?

Looking at the photo, was OP trying to place dog poo in the box? :)
