How much is it using? Have you checked all the breather hose and CCV valve are clear?

There a lad up by me here in meath that is pretty decent. Surely someone in limerick or galway that does it though.

Probably chewing it through the valve stem seals, they all do it after a while, top end rebuild wouldn't cost the world, but might as well do the bottom while youre at it and put in silvertop conrods & acl bearings as a nice preventative measure!

A cyl. compression test should be performed before deciding on a rebuild.

their is a mechanic in limerick up near the train station across from where limerick fc used to play before they moved into thomond park . my mechanic uses him for engine work if you go up around their & ask someone will tell you where he is & a engine you know is better than one you dont. You can save alot of money by taking the engine out yourself if you are able that is were the cost comes in labour.

As above what rate of oil consumption are you getting? They all tend to burn a bit with time, but would be a good idea to have the crankcase breather system checked as if it isnt functioning corectly, oil will be lost.

by breather hose do you mean a breather pipe coming from the top right hand side of the rocker cover? if so there is an induction kit on mine and there is what would be like a mini induction air filter attached to that pipe at the top right hand side of the rocker cover, i took that off and gave it a blow with an air line there was a good bit of oil that came out of that.

Yeah that's the one, much better to put an oil catch can on it, or else the standard airbox & pipe and put the breather back on to it.

In addition to the above, if you can get your hands on a standard airbox & pipe, they're far more beneficial for power than an induction kit, the induction kit just gets heat soaked and actually reduces power, not really much noise gained by them either because of the plenum & individual throttle body setup
