Concerned About Potential Fraud of Childs Birth Certificate

Not sure if this is the right place to put this.

My wife told me a family member of hers was recently looking for our child's full name, address and date of birth for apparently to put down as next of kin in their back account.

The problem is these people are into fraud!

I am worried that this particular person will go and get my child's birth certificate and use it to claim in the Uk.

Is there anyway to stop someone getting my child's birth certificate? Or do they keep a record of birth certificates ordered?

I might be overreacting but would like to know is there anything I can do.

Have the relations a history of fraud?

My understanding is that there is no restriction on taking up anyone's birth certificate once the relevant fee is paid.

These documents are publicly available.

Yes some of her family fraud with regard to benefits etc Some are here and in the UK.
