Hi, does anyone have any trouble logging onto Newstalk using the Tunein app. It was working 2 days ago.
I'd be lost without it at work !!
I'm on android Samsung s4.
Thanks

Sometimes the link drops. That's all. Shut it down and restart the app. That should work

Possibly changed their streaming links and have not informed TuneIn yet. Or, informed them but it can take a few days for TuneIn to get around and update them (it's a manual process). Stream from their website working fine.

Looks like the streaming changed links, but TuneIn is pointing to the old one.

TuneIn uses this -> http://nodec.gocaster.net/nt (offline)
NewsTalk.ie uses this -> http://pri.gocaster.net/NT (working)

Great stuff @JDxtra this was driving me nuts

Out of interest how does one figure out which steam Tunein is using?

You need to view the source of the web page for the station on TuneIn. Look for "stream.radiotime.com" in this source, and copy the whole link. For example:
http://stream.radiotime.com/listen.stream?streamIds=32935677
Then, paste this into a browser, and it will return the details of the stream that TuneIn is using. For example:
( {"Streams": [{"StreamId":32935677,"Reliability":47,"Bandwidth":64,"HasPlaylist":false,"MediaType": "MP3","Url": "http://nodec.gocaster.net/nt","Type": "Live"}] });

At the end, you will see the actual URL for the stream.

or if you had the newstalk app on the phone you'd also have had the station over the weekend.

No use if your internet radio uses TuneIn.

The newstalk app doesn't play well with the WIFI in my work - I've always found tunein much more reliable. I know the issue is the WIFI rather than the app but it's still very frustrating.

You can install the RadioFeeds app from the gallery for an additional directory.
As far as I know, the Newstalk stream didn't go down on RadioFeeds as it uses a different source.
