Boiler not firing in heating mode

I've got a Buderus LPG gas boiler that has worked perfectly for 9 years.
It runs a hot water tank and UFH.
Normally it runs at a low flame to provide for the UHF and high flame when the water tank calls for heat. The modes are initiated by room stats and a thermocouple on the water tank.
This week the boiler has refused to go into heating mode. In heating mode a 24V ac signal is sent out by the boiler and returned via a module that combines the 4 room stats. I have confirmed that that signal is correctly going back into the boiler.
My gut feel is that I've got a dodgy connection in the wiring.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks.
