My father is participating in the beef data scheme and we were wondering when is the soonest a cow can be sold ?

Is it when all the data has been entered on the cows respective calf ..

I hope so, as I sold one 2-3 weeks ago. Never even occurred to me that I had to wait for anything!

I sold one a month after she was tagged, now the bull is off with TB! Doesn't make a difference.

I rang them about this as one of my white tag cows was culled.. they said once I had returned sample as requested that I will get paid on her!

I think the OP is talking about the beef data scheme, not the genomics scheme. I don't know the answer to his question tho. Best bet might be to ring a good Ag consultant or the department.

l think l am getting the idea from a few years back when l was filling out the animal events online when a cow was sold we suddenly found the entries were shaded out and l had to come up with a very good reason 😊 to get access again

In this case the cows calf was in red a few weeks back as the calf hadn't reached the age until this week. l must log in again and see if l can enter some details...we can probably sell her then. Might drop an email to them.
