Eircom have a special offer on at the moment where they charge nothing for installation of a new phone line (as far as I know) - so if you're thinking about it - do it now!

Is that if you get vodafone in?

Not entirely sure - I presume you'd be bound into some kind of contract with eircom for a few months and then you're free to hop to whoever?

If you want Vodafone you can order a new install from them. Don't order it off eircom unless you want eircom as they will tie you to a 12 month contract. Vodafone is free install and broadband only for €35 for unlimited broadband whether it's fibre broadband or just standard broadband.

No matter what provider you sign up with, you will be tied into a contract. The above example of 35 euro a month with vodafone is an 18 month contract.

Just ring Eircom and ask them how much it would cost to get a line installed.

You should also check to see if UPC is in the area. They use TV cables to supply their broadband.
