    Hey Lads,

Are you looking for players at the moment?

Play in this league on Monday nights but would like to play a couple of nights a week.

Handy enough midfielder if that's any use to you.

6-2 win, very impressive going forward.

We created chances and were a hell of a lot more direct going forward, we need to try and do this more in other games,( ignoring the keeper )if we play in a similar way we will score goals.

We passed the ball left and right in a lot of the right cases, we really utilised the space quite well i thought.

We were still caught out a few times , it will happen on a bigger pitch. But which ever player is deepest needs to make themselves heard when calling out positional changes.

Set pieces were awesome.. and we defended their corners and frees very well.

A good 3 points, onwards to next week.

is asd the jack guy who played tonight? if so hope ya stick around mate ya did well

Agreed Jack was very good, was able to head the ball from Midfield...that fact alone means he should stick around! We had scored 3 in the first half and kept going for more instead of sitting back which was great! everyone played really well! We played a very high attacking line too which I think meant their full backs had zero opportunity to go forward, esp in the second half. I defo was fouled in the box too so coulda scored more!
only thing I can think of is the Chris Smallingesc yellow card from blocked free kick which was silly and could cost us in a different game! But not many negatives otherwise! this also coming from the guy who got a yellow 30 seconds in to my last game so more to mind the silliness then to criticise!
    Just my thoughts...

strange game last night, we created loads of chances and fully deserved the win, but between the quality of the opposition and especially their goalkeeping, its hard to read just how well we played - much tougher games lie ahead.

still though you can only beat whats put in front of you and we did that fairly comfortably.

the other side is i am really worried about our defending as a team and its something thats been a problem for months now and the results in the tougher games show that. we gave up at least 6 really good chances last night, and it was upwards of 10-12 against Dell.

we are getting caught on the break at a scary amount and a better team last night with a more clincal keeper would have caused us serious problems, which is a shame because we have such good players and play such lovely football.

we not won a tight game in ages and id love to get back to winning these bigger games (have 2 or 3 coming up) 1-0 or 2-1 as opposed to losing/drawing them all which we seem to be doing lately.

theres been 122 goals scored in the 23 games since the start of last season, thats almost 6 goals a game in every game we have played in!!. 76 goals scored, 46 conceded but we have only won 50% of those games. - 11 wins, 7 loses, 4 draws.

Stand outs for me last night:

    Ed's penalty save
Darren's 50 yard run to the touchline to cover a breaking man
    Another flukey Keith free kick
Derek's even flukier headed goal :pac:
    Awesome debut from mysterious newcomer

Well done all - good victory.

Yeah, you were clearly fouled - ref just didn't want to give another peno, or at least not to us.

Very interesting last couple of games there defensively. Much narrower which resulted in a lot less chances conceded than last season, especially from crosses.

Noticeable particularly when defending one side, the other full back is now not on the far side of the pitch but within the yellow lines. So the centre halves aren't dragged out and are compact and around to clear the ball in the box. It might be a useful tactic against the strength out wide that teams like Dell have and that they couldn't use in Colmcilles. Give them the edges of the pitch and be around in numbers to clear it out when they come inside.

You could see last night the opposition were not used to it and they played the full width of the pitch giving up a lot more room and less pressure on the Boards' central midfielders and forwards...more room to shoot, more goals.

But still no sign of Damo hitting the net...:pac:

Good win, loads of goals scored. Great 30 minutes from jack. But let's not get carried away, it's no surprise we looked good against a team that have regularly finished in the bottom 3 of leagues we've won or come close to winning.
