I had really hoped to do the ring of Kerry next year but with a wedding the week after, I think its a tall order.

Any other good relaxed sportives to aim for around that time? I did the Sean Kelly 100 this year and found it grand.

If you haven't recovered after a week then your havent near enough training done. A day or two recovery should be all you need, if even that. I done Mizen to Malin in September and was wrecked the day after we arrived back but the following day I was back to myself again and headed out for a 40km light spin. I only started cycling in May 2012 after nearly 20 years of zero exercise so my fitness levels were at zero

Lough Key Classic, Boyle Co. Roscommon - 120km beautiful scenery and a decent route very enjoyable, on around the 15th May or that!

You are talking 6 months of training time and with proper focus there is no reason why you couldnt give the 200 a go . . Or at least a couple of 160s .

Go Wan get out there. ..Ride your bike

When I said I have a wedding the week after, I meant my wedding. Five days later. I will be fairly busy with it id say. We had talked about doing it anyway but I have realised it'd be madness.

hmm we will see. training is complicated by spending chunks of time in Finland and neither a road bike nor a hill here. and as for winter training... fuhgettaboutit. might take up a spinning class.
