Does anyone know or heard of any exact places that hire young teens (15 & 16) for part time work during weekends or maybe the summer.

Farmers usually have something to offer, spud picking, etc.

The law around employing under sixteens is very strict get familiar with that first it limits hours worked and times of working

That was kind of my point too with the spud picking, a farmer may be more inclined to let a young lad pick a few spuds rather than someone who owns a business hire him illegally ...

LOL, what was I saying. Sorry about that. I was just wondering if it would be possible for maybe small newsagents or maybe even ice cream parlors to hire a teenager. Does anyone have any experience working a job at my age or doing anything that got you some money

I can't imagine any retailer eg newsagents hiring an under 18. I haven't been to a newsagents in years that doesn't sell alcohol. You need an over 18 to work in the store to sell alcohol. Maybe try a bar collecting glassess

My local spar, centra, mace, etc and even a very small independant newsagent all sell alcohol.

Anyway the laws around employing under sixteens are very strict

Really? Even the tiny newsagent beside my grandparents village in the west sells wine and it's the least likely place you would expect to see wine for sale.

I have a newsagent near by me that only sells magazines, newspapers, sweets, drinks and couple of small kid toys. Might try and see there. Would you say there would be part time job opportunities in the summer for a 16 year old

Very few places are going to take on a 16 year old with no experience. When they will have people with college degrees and several years experience willing to do the same job for the same wage. Your best opinion is a farm or a small local business. But reasonably sized company is going to take you
