Amazon Seller Shipping Costs

    Right here it goes...

I have recently started selling Video games on Amazon. I have my delivery costs at around 4 British Pounds as this covers the An Post 3.80 standard large Envelope rate to UK, EU etc as well as the cost of packaging etc.

Now what I would like to know is can I set a separate charge for just Irish customers and will they be able to see this charge? Say that I match the lowest price on Amazon I will have a good chance of a sale, however if I could have my Irish delivery cost at 2 quid less then I would be undercutting the nearest seller by 2 quid. This may not seem like a lot but it would make increase my selling for my Irish customers.

Alternatively is their anyway I could advertise to Irish customers that I can ship for less to them? Perhaps I could stick it in the 'Item Condition' part but that might be against Amazon rules???

you can set different delivery rates for different areas. However, as Amazon is uk based they let you set one rate for the UK and other rates for different zones in Europe. So you can set one rate for the UK but the irish rate would have to be included as Europe Zone 1. Europe Zone 1 includes Belgium,Denmark, mainland France,Germany,Republic of Ireland,Luxembourg,Monaco,Netherlands. So the cheap shipping rate you set for ireland would also apply to the rest of this zone. This could end up costing you money if somebody from denmark orders from you at the irish shipping rate. To be honest you really need to talk to amazon themselves. I've never seen an irish only delivery rate but it may be possible.

Yeah it looks like you are right... I wonder how likely it would be for someone to buy from me outside of the UK and Ireland?

And in the event it happens I would only be out of pocket by a couple of euro. It might be worth it to get the competitive edge for Irish buyers on Amazon, especially when its hard to compete in the UK market when It's costing me 4 quid to post over there while a UK based seller is only posting for 2 quid.
