I put that budget on as a round figure, obviously lesser is good. I'm looking to be able to play games at top settings. Especially GTA V, Far Cry 4, Evolve when these come out. I also will be using it a lot for Adobe Creative Suite, but this will all be easy with a top pc for gaming.

So if you're looking to max out Far Cry 4 on 1080p (I assume?) I think you'll be able to do it, but in regards to your fps ingame, that's another thing entirely. Also, the 290 outperforms the gtx 770 and the gtx 770 outperforms the 680 so I don't know how they came to the conclusion that the 290x was required as opposed to the 680. :P

Was thinking of going for pretty much the same, was concerned the power supply wouldnt be strong enough though

The power-supply would be adequate, I wouldn't be doing too much overclocking on it though and since I had no way of knowing I went under the assumption that OP would not be doing that as he didn't say he would be. - That's why I asked him for the form to be filled out.

Cool. I had just had a look at the specs and it suggested a 600w power supply I think. But I'm not overly versed in such things. I know I wouldnt be over clocking either

Yeah, the thing is that the recommended rating for a graphics card is usually much higher than in reality because it assumes that the efficiency is pretty poor on those power supplies. The price increase isn't massive from the 500w to the 600w - about 10 euro;

The form helps a lot in regards to people specifying what they would like exactly but if you're not going to be overclocking, you'll definitely be fine with the 500watt although you could go for the modular version;
