Short slats

It seems from reading the safety grant thread that there is a few ppl thinking about replacing slats on tanks built in the 70's-80's. A lot of these tanks had slats 6 or 7 or perhaps 8 feet long. Would it be worthwhile getting a group together who need these slats and asking one of the slat suppliers to get a mould made to suit these short slats?

I know I have 120 feet long tanks of short single slats anyway. I'd rather have a proper slat made than cutting longer ones to suit. Cutting exposes the re-bars, causing them to rust, expand and eventually crack the slat.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Back when I was at the slat rubber i called to various slat manufacturers and there were a few that did slats down as small as 7 and 8 feet. Probably more up north than down south but it would be worth ringing around as some would have them in stock.

What length are your slats, blue? I know some of even the smaller outfits made 8ft6 long back in the mid 90s. Someone as big as Banagher Concrete would surely make them?

I got two 8 ft six slats of banagher in 07 to cover a 16ft flow chanel between two tanks. They had them in stock as far as i can remember.

Id say they have all sizes. Worth a phone call.

My shorter slats are 6'6"put in 35 years ago
I am having no luck finding any one that can make replacements for them
Maybe might be handy if people could tell us where they managed to get shorter than standard slats
