I need to create a contact book for a group project and decided to try using a wiki. Services like Wikia were useful but they're intended for sharing, whereas our data needs be limited to ~20 users.

I purchased a domain and some hosting and now have MediaWiki installed. I'm getting used to it and starting to build the site. I'm reluctant to add details until I know it's secure, whereas now it's public.

Does anyone know if it's possible to prevent new users from registering, and then to allow only members to see the pages and only admins to edit?
