Just wondering if anyone knows of any Irish Law or EU Law to do with the following.

If my contract states, hours of work are anywhere between 7am and 11pm at night Monday/Sunday but you have been working set hours Monday to Friday 6am-Midday for around 2 years. Can the company just come down one day on you can change your hours to anywhere they like between Monday/Sunday and any hours between 7am/11pm.

I have been told they can. But it just dose not sit right with me, that if you have been doing the hours for so long they can just radically change them.

If it's in.the contract and you signed it yes they can.

It's like saying that the company may need to move staff to different departments as the need arises.
It may never happen but they are forewarning you.

They will refer back to your contract.

It obviously messes up your daily routine.

I thought as much, just find it bizzare there was no issue with it for 2 years. I was enjoying the work as I could focus my time and effort on it, now I am been thrown around the department like a toy. Don't know if I am coming or going, I don't mind been flexible but within reason like finishing late then early then early then late day off day off work straight till your due your next two days off. I just feel very run down from it, maybe I just need to adjust back to it, can't help but feel it's a way to manage me out of the company. But they have done this with a few other people and I would consider myself one of there strongest workers. I get on well with my manager and do my work, stay late if asked or cover if asked? Just can't understand it. Guess it's the new age we live in and life so I will just get used to it!

Shift work takes a couple of months to adjust to

I done it for quite sometime before it. It's a killer, wide awake here at 12 and in a 7am, I know I will be wrecked either way.
