    Hi

I have been living in my apartment for three years. My landlord sold the building in april and the new landlord gave me a year lease.now this is where it gets messy,Today i was contacted by an agency saying that the new landlord sold the building in july. Now i have a new Landlord again. The thing is the landlord didn't tell the tenants he sold the building and has been collecting the rent as normal..I explain the situation to the agency and they are trying to contact him to collect the payments but he is not replying to them.

He also has my deposit.what would be the best plan of action for me?i'm thinking of telling the agency i will not pay any more rent until i sign a new lease and until they have my deposit.

    any advice is much appreciated.

    Martin

Report it to the Gardaí. They may try to pass it off as a civil matter but point them to Section 6 of the Theft and Fraud offences Act, 2001 if they do.

Contact FLAC/Threshold/a solicitor for advice. If you do withhold rent open up a seperate account and transfer the money there each month (or week).
