    Following my earlier question

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=92249123

I eventually had Lasik and Wavefront done with Optilase in Cork 2.5 weeks ago.
I had the initial consultations and tests done with Optilase in Cruises St, Limerick and the surgery done on Oct. 17th in Opera Lane, Cork.

I found them excellent all the way from the preliminary examinations in Limerick to the surgery, done by Dr. Eamon Hynes, and everything went very smoothly.

Initial recovery took a week or so, and I am still seeing steady improvement in my distance vision on a daily basis. I am 59 yrs. old so was a bit unsure on the age thing but I am very happy with the results so far.

It was distance vision correction I opted for, but there is also a marked improvement in my near vision and even though I will still use reading glasses, I can now read newspapers, laptop etc. pretty well with no glasses now if I want to, post-recovery.

Interestingly, my near-vision was sharp immediately but my distance vision was blurry for around 10 days, and is still a tiny bit blurred but is now almost perfect, and still improving daily. Halos and starburst effects are also subsiding steadily since surgery.

Overall....very happy with Optilase and would recommend them highly.

No affiliations or connections whatsoever with them nor related/known to anyone working there, so my comments are totally unsolicited.

If anyone wants the €100 referral, please feel free to pm me for details.
