We have replaced all the rads except one,now we find that the temperature of the original rad is only 42 deg while all the new rads are at 60 deg. This is after about 1 hour running the oil burner which is a grant vortex Condensor. There is a TRV fitted on this older rad and it is fully open, also the lock shield is fully open.Do I need to replace this rad also?Maybe it's just that the newer stelrads are better at giving out heat than the older type which also has the fins on the back of both panels. All advice is welcome.

Modern rads throw out about a third extra heat.

Modern rads are more efficient but if the new ones are 60 then do should the olds ones if the system is balanced correctly. And of course assuming the old rad or it's pipework isn't sludged up

Thanks for the replies. We have discovered that the pin that is under the head of the TRV was stuck and when it was freed off all returned to normal.
Thanks again to the good people on Boards.
