Poor mobile signal...

    Hi all. I have a genericy (Jiayu G2) Android phone and recently I've noticed my mobile signla crapping out quite a bit. SMS not sending, dropped mobile data connections, no calls even. I've gone to the network setting and tick "WCDMA only" and this seems to have given me a fairly stable 3 out of 4 signal bars. This was no coverage on "auto select GSM/WCDMA".
    I've no idea if this will keep as I move around though, so is this a possible fix? I though GSM was supposed to be the most reliable network setting?
