    Hi guys,

Just looking to see if anyone has any recommendations for door installers?

I had a guy come around last week to quote on the job; standard sized back door, half glass - €3755.

Needless to say I didn't go for it.

Anyone had any good experiences with companies?

    Thanks,

That sounds quite reasonable.......for a gold plated door with built in TV!

For a standard 30" or 32" external door custom made, with no frame from hardwood with double glazing, fitted, ballpark would be between €900 to €1500, depending on finish and hardware fitted. With frame expect to add between €500 to €750 more.

    Thanks for the reply knickerbocker.

Should have mentioned it was for a PVC door - I'll certainly think about hardwood though.

Carpenter - That was my theory too - it was on Halloween night also!

If the frame is OK get a good hardwood door

Was it just to remove the old door and re fit or include a knock out

That's way too much to pay for a PVC back door. I got both back door and front door made and fitted for a lot less than that earlier this year. Do a web search and you will find a lot of well known suppliers out there who will be able to the door for a lot less. I will message you the details of the company I used.

@650gs - Just to remove and re-fit!!! Comes with all sort of guarantees though - Who gives a s**t at that price!

@Fendy - That would be great cheers!
