Just wanted to let anyone know who has their wedding booked in the Markree and have of course heard about it being sold & the castle being closed during the winter - do not worry!!

I had my wedding there on Halloween night & it was truly AMAZING & just magical! Yes the hotel was closed the night before but we stayed in the beautiful HomeFarm Apartments which are just behind the castle & they were fabulous - very comfortable & just ideal for groups staying together if you wanted to book the brides side in one apartment & the grooms in the another, there is 3 bed apartments that are ideal!

We were allowed access to the hotel the night before for setting up which was brilliant & then we were in the bridal suite early aswell - castle was beautifully set up as you would expect - warm & inviting!

The service was brilliant - lots of staff, food served quickly and efficiently & the food was top class again as you would expect.

While the castle is going through alot of changes at the minute with the sale ect - you can rest assured, the staff were still wholly dedicated to the event & making our day as memorably and magical as we dreamed it would be.

Relax & enjoy your wedding guys - the Markree Castle is every bit the stunning venue you hoped it would be & the once in a lifetime experience you wanted! You might have guessed but I'm still on cloud 9!! :)
