    Hi guys.
I am considering getting an Audi A4 in the new year (2.0 tdi 136 model year 2011).
I currently have a 2003 Audi A3 (3 door with about 140K miles on the clock).

I know this is not an exact science but if I were to trade the A3 car in when getting the A4 - what would I be looking at getting off the price of the A4 ballpark do you think?
The A3 is in reasonable shape but has a few scrapes here and there on the body.

Cheers for any opinions/help ye can offer.

PS - I almost forgot. I have been looking at the A4 2.0 model both here and in the UK.
Using the VRT calculator on the revenue website I would be looking at about €5000 of a VRT payment.
Is this figure likely to be accurate or could it vary by much?
    Thanks again for your help

The A3 is probably worth about 2k as a trade in. Audi A4 2011 your probably looking at 18-20k. Best case for your car on a trade in is probably 16 grand.

Best plan would be sell the A3 private and negotiate a 10% or more cash discount for the A4.

What engine is in your A3, is it 3 or 5dr and it is the old shape or new shape?

Get the higher bhp version if your money can stretch. You'll likely to enjoy it more in the long run.

Don't make the same mistake i did. Going from a vw golf 1.4 to a4 2.0 120 was great at the start but soon it feels under powered at times (still sufficient but could have been better).

I'm not making the same mistake again when i get the next car

    It's a 3 door 1.6 litre newer shape model
