Sports bra in Dublin

    Hi,

Just wondering does anyone have any recommendations on a decent place to get a sports bra (for running) in Dublin? Anywhere in the Northside, City Centre, Dundrum all fine. Have an awkward size (32D-32DD) so typical over the head crop top styles never seem to fit properly, the band is always too loose and can't go any smaller.

    Thanks

Firstly, measure yourself properly - the guide on the subreddit A Bra That Fits is a good place to start. If you are having trouble with the band being too loose - then there is a decent chance that a 30 band might be a better fit.

Secondly, I've found the Panache sports bra great for running, very supportive and it still gives you a nice shape because it works via encapsulation. I've worn it for a half-marathon and sprint and olympic distance triathlons this year and had no problems. The Shock Absorber S4490 and D+ Max are decently supportive too if you prefer bras that just really mash the girls down.

In terms of where to shop in Dublin - Elverys should stock both of the ones I've recommended. Peaches and Cream stock Panache and will give you a good fitting in the process. Worth trying Debenhams when they have a sale on too, particularly if you end up being an unusual size when properly measured (28 and 30 bands end up in the sale more often).

I got my sports bra in Debehams and though it'll be a little bit more expensive I think they give you better support than the overhead ones. I don't use the overhead ones as they just feel like they are suffocating my chest as suppose to giving them proper support and my chest is only small! This is the one I have:

I think it's really good as it clasps on like a bra and gives me good support. At 41 euro, it might be expensive, but it's really worth it and it washes really well! I've thrown mine in the washing machine lots of times (laziness) and it has kept really well. :) I'd recommend it anyway!

^ That one is quite commonly available on Amazon or Ebay for relatively cheap prices, depending on your size.

That's the one I have too. I find it great. Excellent support with the double clasp!

Thanks for all the advice, should hopefully be able to get something half decent with those suggestions. Had been trying the over the head ones and found that the smallest I could go was a S but the band was too loose - that's what I meant about the band riding up. Should have been clearer, sorry!

I buy all mine from amazon. I can't use bras that I have to pull over my head as it hurts my shoulder

Hadn't actually thought of buying off amazon, it never occurred to me that lingerie could be bought online. I always want to try things on, but I suppose if I find a sports bra I like and get along with, I can just get it online.

Lol, it's a whole new world out there.

Also littlewoods have some and marks and spencer are good too. I look on the debenhams website then always check amazon.
