Income tax, USC during unemployment

I recently became unemployed on 6/10/14 and signed on the 10/10/14. I had a job lined up starting on the 10th of the following month which meant 4 weeks of jobseekers benefit.
I am wondering am I eligible for a income tax or USC refund by filling out a p50, as I am in receipt of a taxable source of income (jobseekers benefit) I need to wait 8 weeks before making a claim but by this time I will be back in the workforce. I have paid over 7k between usc and income tax over the last year so a small bit back would help! Thanks guys

When you start your new job, contact Revenue to register your new employment as your taxable jobseekers benefit may mess things up a bit. Once your new employer receives and operates your new tax credit cert from Revenue, any repayment of tax which may be due to you will be refunded through your wages.
