Do you have a 3D TV ?. Otherwise you cant watch a 3D film.

Also with Glasses you will need to buy what ever pair your TV supports as i have a panasonic from 2011 and i can only use the glasses made that year while the other TV in the house is a LG and that only supports the LG glasses. Google is your best to see what glasses you need to buy for your TV

Do you a 3D blu ray player or a games console that supports 3D blu rays EG like a PS3, Xbox one and PS4.

Xtra Vision my have some if you look other wise you will have to buy them as no where rents them as there is not much demand for them at all also they can be quite dear to buy.

There is other places where you can get them but i won't say but you will need internet and a hard drive or a USB to plug into your TV to play the File

I have a passive 3D Sony Bravia that works with glasses from the cinema (costs peanuts). My old Samsung had to use the glasses made specifically for it (€95 for the pair IIRC) so you might be lucky in that regard.

You mean it was letterboxed? If that's how the director made the movie then yes.

ya.like a letterbox.kinda ruins it for me on the big tv.whats the point of watching those films on a 50" tv when its shrunk down to 40",i suppose thats it,nothing can be done:(

I'd look at it like "why distort the picture to fill the screen". It's a real pet hate of mine when people zoom in on a picture.

i just dont like 5" black bars on top/bottom of screen,i know zooming distorts the picture somewhat, but i like to see a 50" picture on a 50" screen, thats why i bought a 50"tv,guess i have no choice with some movies,ah well least the footie will look well,.
