Hi all, Back in july I done my five weeks work experience in a local restaurant. done my five weeks and I got a few hours work for the weekends when I come home from college. I was delighted to get the work as it's a real benifit to me in becoming a chef. the only thing I'm worried about is that, I think I'm been payed to little. :o

For my W/E I was been payed 100 Euro p/w regardless of hours I work. Usually was about 37-40 hours per week

Since I finished and gone back to college. I've been getting 50 euro for 23-25 hours per week.

Ive told the boss and he kinda passed me on to the manager. the manager says she "doesn't know what pay I should be getting" but is looking into it. she has been looking into it the last 2 weeks. so just looking for opions on this. or where online could I get some info on this?

    Thanks.

jeez €2 an hour? thats ridiculous. I was getting more than that for working in a shop 20+ years ago. and that was rubbish money even then.

    report them to who?

what would happen I did report them? could I lose my job?

You see it's very hard to get other work as a commis (trainie) chef as nobody really want the trouble having to train somebody up.

Ya, 50 euro for a 23 - 25 hour week works out at 2 euroish per hour.
