Just wondering if anyone has experience feeding store lambs on chopped fodder beet?...im collect a load for feeding the cattle and ewes during the winter. And was thinking if I could feed it to the store lambs it might reduce my meal bill??

to get real value from fodder beet you need to balance it with protein and minerals. we have fed lambs up to 5 kgs/hd/day along with 200grams soya and beet minerals. works well but you need to be very careful starting them off as you can sicken or even kill them with beet

Whoever ya get them off tell them that it's for feeding with fodder beet. Ya'll need more iodine than a normal sheep mineral
