Free broadband

Basically I am currently recieving free broadband. This came about because of me placing orders with both eircom and vodafone and cancelling due to ridiculous wait times for both {nearly 2 months!} I'm not sure what happened but now I have broadband in my house and neither VF or Eircom are providing it.

Eircom have said my line is clear when I was enquiring about Fibre and Vodafone have no record of me.

What's going on here? Am I ok to just keep using it? Will I eventually face a huge bill? Surely not seen a I am not in contract.

What modem is currently connected? You PPPoE details will point to who still has you active in their backend. If its fibre then the port is still configured as open but that will likely change within a few months as itll be available to be assigned to new customers.

If you do a speed test on www.speedtest.net I think it shows who you're ISP is.

It's a VF router and speedtest.net shows VF as my ISP. Strange as I'm not giving anyone money.

Would I be right in saying that I can get FTTH from Eircom down here in Wexford town?

Eircom don't seem to think so even though I have had Eircom engineers telling me to my face that I could get it
