Anything can happen, but as sure as tomorrow is Sunday, Olynyk will be unable to do anything with Dwight in the post

i dont think so I'm afraid i love our guards and green is a decent player although he should be better than his is but we have nobody that can defend in the paint maby sully but nobody inside there will be abel to compete with the likes of dwight

i will say right here right now we are instant underdogs if were playing a team with very good offensive center

Stuckey is out. Donald Sloan is the only point guard the Pacers have left now. Wow...

Dallas blow 17 point lead, down 3. Spoke too soon.

Rockets lead the celtics 37-22 at the end of one quarter.

Tyreke Evans is good when he is not grotesquely over weight. Tearing it up in the 3rd.

Man, the Bulls are deep. No Rose, no Gibson, 2nd night of a back-to-back, on the road, and steamrollering the Timberwolves.

Also, Wiggins looks like a bust.

Is rose out for the game tonight ? They said he missed 181 games in three seasons. I mean its a shame for such a giftred player to have such injury problems.

to be fair a lot of experts said he would he didn't dominate in college like an anthony davis its all about potential with him so he was always likely to be poor enough for a season maby two

(having said that i got very caught up in the hype around draft time)

The celtics couldn't hit water if the feel out of a boat from the three point line. Whatever rondo tried there a three pointer It wasnt.

Rolled his ankle last night, nothing to worry about, will be back in a couple of days.

I was kind of exaggerating for humourous effect based on one half of basketball, but he was poor in the first half. He's had some nice moments in the 2nd half, and the Wolves are back in it.

Nearly jinxed them, bit fortunate to win in the end.

Led by 2 with 24 seconds left, gave the Wolves 4 chances at it, giving up 3 offensive boards, Kevin Martin nails a 3 with 2.7 seconds left.

Inbound from half-court. Jimmy drives, slips, pump-fakes, Wiggins jumps a mile into the air. Jimmy draws the foul, and nails both free throws for the win.

it's way too early to say Wiggins is a bust. The kid has only played less than a handful of games and he's only 19.

Just watched the Golden State - LA game - is there a more exciting (offensive) back court in the league than Curry and Thompson? Looking forward to seeing them in the flesh in a few weeks (PLEASE DO NOT GET INJURED IN THE INTERIM!). Ok, my overdue predictions for the year:
East: 1) Cavs 2) Bulls 3) Wizards 4) Raptors 5) Hawks 6) Charlotte Hornets 7) Knicks 8) Heat( I really wanted to omit the Heat here, that pick comes down to how much you trust Bosh's ability to get back to his Toronto days.I think that Stan could find a way to get Detroit into the playoffs also.)

West 1) Spurs 2) Clippers 3) Grizzlies 4)OKC 5) Warriors 6) Rockets 7) Mavs 8) Trail Blazers (Suns won't be far away. It's just hard to see any of last years teams slipping out of the playoffs. The Blazers are the most likely to have a regression year imo, and I have a sneaky feeling about the Pelicans. Davis could possible drag his team kicking and screaming into the 8th spot.

MVP: It's too easy to say LeBron and though he is the best player in the league part of me thinks he will suffer from voter fatigue again. So, that, and Durant out for part of the season ruling him out I'd going to throw in a wild card - Joakim Noah. This is contingent on the Bulls winning the East (which I think they will) and the press hankering for a team player over individual style MVP a la the real old days. Wild card - either Chris Paul or Blake Griffin from the Clipps; and, and I'm not joking here - writer/cocah/commentator favourite Anthony Davis has a real shot at this if the Pelicans make the Playoffs.
Rookie of the Year: Smart - I think he's going to get major minutes in Beantown and in the ROY race that's a huge factor.
Defensive Player of the Year: Anthony Davis
Most Improved Player: Anthony Davis (again - if it's possible to win more than one award, this is the guy to do it). Or Blake Griffin (seriously).
    6th man: Isiah Thomas
Breakout Player: Mason Plumlee (prob should have been ROY last year in hindsight - check the stats and the +/-)
Coach of the year: Thibs (or potentially Blatt)

    East:
    1. Bulls - obviously contingent on the 1st 5 staying injury free.
    2. Cavs
    3. Raptors
    4. Wizards
    5. Atlanta
    6. Charlotte
    7. Miami
    8. Brooklyn

    West:
    1. San Antonio - you just can't knock them, the coach or their consistency.
    2. Clippers - have to improve on Year 2 with Doc
    3. GSW - I said they'd win the West last year, think they have a real shot this year again if Bogut in particular can stay healthy.
    4. Houston - only this high due to OKC losing ground early but on their day could beat anyone, Think the Parsons loss will ultimately be something they regret
    5. OKC - would have been way higher save for the current injuries, prob. 2nd to be fair but losing Durant and Westbrrok early will hurt them. That said, if you're going to lose guys to injury better now than any other time.
    6. Dallas - look seriously good offensively
    7. Memphis
    8. Portland

The East will be a bit of a joke again this year with really only 2 teams competing for it while the West will see really good teams not make the Play Offs again - which is a shame.

    Finals:

Bulls V someone from the West (lol). Really torn on this, my head says San Antonio but they're going to have to beat at least 2 really really good teams to get that far. I see anyone from San An, OKC, the Clippers or GSW legitimately have a shot at winning the West and ultimately, it all. I'm going to say San An or GSW, but this is a fricking coin toss.

    34/17/5 for Boogie.

If he doesn't make it as an All Star this year it's a joke. Last year he was robbed.

Boogie being Boogie - 34/17/5/3. The man is a joke. If he was with a big market team he would be one of the most hyped players in the NBA. Thankfully he's in Sacramento, and hopefully he stays there.

The Kings, apart from the abysmal offensive performance against the Warriors, have been quite good. Our defense has been way better than I expected so far. Hopefully we can stay consistent and have a winning year. Big Cuz is extremely loyal but there's only so much losing a player like him can take, time to become a respectable team again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,116 ✭✭✭BQQ

    Boogie was awesome.
I also loved Sideshow Bob dunking in Bogut's face :D

Glad to see Miami coping well without Lebron.
I was expecting a stuttering start as new faces bedded in and old ones got used to new roles, but Bosh has started the season really well.

Pretty quiet around here the past few days:(

Some good games on last night. We lost to a Blazers side that just wanted the game more. Dion and Kyrie didn't gel well at all and LeBron had 1 of his worst games in a very long while. I'm not worried about us at all (I'll start if this continues after around 20 games) and we should bounce back against the Jazz tonight

Ended up watching the Wizards/Knicks game this morning and it was a pretty back and forth game. Wizards got the W. Gotta say, I'm very impressed with what I've seen of the Pelicans so far, play some really fun basketball and Davis is gonna be nailed in for an All-Star spot (crosses fingers). They got the W against the Hornets. Injuries are killing the Thunder (Perry Jones went out injured last night and joins Westbrook and Durant) and it's showing. They held up well against the Raptors but just ran outta energy after Q3. Rockets are 5-0 (who saw this coming?) after beating the Heat in a game that the Rockets tried to hit a 3 ball whenever they could. Bulls went about their usual business beating a Magic team that played really well. Pacers had an off night and fell to the Bucks & Lakers are now 0-5 after the Suns beat them

Just read a stat there on Lebron from last night. He failed to score in the second half. Only the second time this has happened in his career. The first time was during his 4th game in the NBA back in 2003.

As for the Pelicans, they are probably the most enjoyable team to watch so far this season, after Golden State. The high intensity they are playing at is unreal. Davis leading on fast breaks is fantastic to see. He is so athletic. Guaranteed All Star

heat- hornets and raptors-celtics are my games for tonight the first should be fun to watch just two teams playing well

and i think the celtics match up quite well with the raptors they may not beat them but i would recomend anyone who has not seen them play to give them a look the they look outstanding when they play rondo, bradly, smart, green,a big one of the most dogged teams iv seen defensively the mavericks guards looked scared to take them on

i think they will be a nightmare for any team that does not have a dominant big man. they probably won't be a playoff team but they will be a pain in the ass for anyone.

My early games to watch is Heat/Hornets and Hawks/Spurs. Keep an eye on Magic/Sixers as 1 of them has to win tonight as well!

My late games to watch are Cavs/Jazz (shocked:pac:) and Warriors/Clippers

    .................................... whoops!

Tbh, it was a better performance but there's something still not right. Against Portland, it was that LeBron couldn't score and Kyrie and Dion didn't work. Last night, we started Marion instead of Dion (who finished 0-3) but it really was the lack of assists (a whole 6) that was the problem

Stein now reporting that deal is in danger/not likely to go ahead due to visa issues. Basically, Pacers's waiver for a 16th roster spot is up tonight and the earliest the Visa can be got is tomorrow. Either the Pacers get a different player/they get the Visa process to be hurried up (not likely) or the deal doesn't happen

That's a bummer. They should have looked to get this done as soon as Stuckey got hurt. Watson and Hill were already out.

Nobody mentioning the Kings blowing out the Nuggets? Kings are playing great defense, Boogie and Rudy have been brilliant so far. And Collison is far better at running the team than IT, and actually plays defense. 4-1, lets see if we can break .500 this year.

Big Cuz had 30/11. He is the only player in the last 28 years to put up 30/11 in 23 minutes or less.

Add to that Boogie is the 4th player in Kings franchise history to record 120+pts & 50+rebs in his 1st 5 games of a season (Oscar, Twyman, Webber)

Granted it's only been 5 games but the Kings (along with the Pelicans) have really been the surprise teams this season. My guess is the Kings will break .500 and maybe a runner for the 8th seed *crosses fingers*

As malistheman mentioned, we're playing the Suns tonight. I expect us to lose and IT to absolutely torch us, he has that type of personality and has already mentioned that he wants to "show them how wrong they were". But hopefully we can keep the streak alive. IT is a double edged sword, him going into hero mode is often the undoing of his team despite his impressive numbers.

If you want to watch a previous Kings game, I'd say the Kings/Clippers game in LA is a good one. Entertaining, close, chippy, featuring an utterly dominant performance by Boogie.

Some very sad news, a fan who collapsed during the 4th Quarter last night's Blazers/Mavs game has unfortunately died:(

Another packed night in the NBA after last night's TNT double header, which saw the Rockets move to 6-0 after beating a Spurs team who rested Ginobili and Timmy and the Blazers beat the Mavs to go to 3-2.

My game of the night sees the Wizards head up north to face the Toronto Raptors. 1 of the 2 Wizards visits to Toronto last year saw the game finish in a 3OT Wizards win. Another potential fun game to watch is the Hawks/Hornets, which tips off in an hour. The first "battle of New York" of the 2014-15 season takes place as the Knicks head to Brooklyn to take on the Nets. The Bulls face the 0-5 Sixers while the 1-4 Indy and the 1-3 Celtics face off.

Another fun League Pass game could see Minny move to 3-2 as they face off against the Magic. The Bucks face off against the Pistons, the Mavs face the Jazz while the Kings head to Phoenix in another potentially fun League Pass game.

BT have the ESPN double header live, which sees the Grizz head to OKC at 1 am followed by the Cavs visit to Denver in the late game.
