    Cavs lead 25-18 after Q1

What the hell were the Knicks thinking when they put that roster together. Awful.

You can see lebron a a bit nervy it took Miami most of there first year to come together this team looks far better than Miami did at the start

Hmmm. It seems the Cavs players are a bit too worried about stepping on each other's toes so far. It's leading to hesitancy and turnovers keeping the Knicks slightly ahead at the moment.

    Knicks up 67-64 after 3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,313 ✭✭✭padraig_f

Would be very funny if the Knicks held on for the upset. The Lebron PR machine has been really irritating me in the run up to this game, they're laying it on super thick with whole phoney Cleveland thing.

Look at Lebron acting like he didn't under cut Melo on that 3. My goodness....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

No question, the Knicks deserved that win. The moment got to LeBron big time and he was woeful, 5-15 and near 10 tunovers, just awful. Still though, we're gonna have games like this where we just get outplayed. Gotta settle and get into a rythym. Onwards to Chi Town tomorrow night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,313 ✭✭✭padraig_f

That was fun. Was obviously just a sloppy not-used-to-playing-with-each-other performance, but good to see the hype punctured.

Only watched the first quarter last night but it really showed how nervous LBJ was. He was committing turnovers he'd never commit in a million years otherwise. On the plus side, Kevin Love seems to have transitioned easily to the new team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,734 ✭✭✭ec18

Love probably has an easier transition as there's a lot less pressure on him from the home crowd. Lebron has all the I'm coming home to bring a championship to Cleveland. Love is really just a top player that forced his way to the team he wants to play with.

Also with the fact that Lebron was kinda pulling the strings on the Love trade from the Cleveland point of view, Love really just has to show and be Love. I think all the expectation and blame are with Lebron

    *(Haven't seen the Game yet)

It was some nice karma. They came out trying to show off too, doing needless fancy ****, no-look passes and whatnot, not playing the game the right way.

Melo hit a really nice shot to ice the game.

Some injury news in that Russell Westbrook is out for 4-6 weeks with a fractured hand, seriously hampers the Thunder now

100% agree with you there, the whole pre-game stuff was completely OTT. Hopefully with the loss we can just focus on playing the game itself instead of becoming a sideshow for it. Don't know how many times we passed up an open shot for an extra, unnecessary pass. Turnovers really killed us though, very sloppy play in keeping the ball.

JR's floater before Melo's shot was a perfect shot considering their 2 previous plays were a shot clock violation and an airball. That Melo shot though was ridiculous, especially with LeBron in his face.

Anyways, Bulls at the United Center tonight at midnight should be a fun one

    Andy Varejao - 3 year $30mil - confirmed
    Alec Burks - 4 year $42mil - confirmed

Jimmy Butler - *reportedly* turns down 4 year $48mil Bulls offer, will be a restricted free agent this summer

Chandler Parsons and Gordon Hayward have massively driven up the value of the starting calibre wing player. Some ridiculous contracts there.

And I think that Marc Gasol is the best C in the league. Straight up.

Well Holy God. Pacers with the 9 point lead on the Grizz. Stuckey has been surprisingly good in these two games.

Been watching a bit of it there, this is the opposite of what I expected. Grizz can't sink a bucket since the 2Q began

Rook Rudez for Indy is 3-3 from 3 pt land

Mahinmi and Allen on the court together means we may be poor offensively but we'll own the boards.

Rudez couldn't hit a thing in pre season. Hopefully he's getting used to the longer NBA 3 pt line now.

Here we go, it's Game Time in Chi Town!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

Bulls lead 16-14 at the first timeout. Can tell straight away that this is gonna be a fun rivalry to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,313 ✭✭✭padraig_f

Yeah good game, more normal game than last night.

Gasol is such a smart player, 2nd game in, looks like he's been with the team for years.

Third really nice assist from dunleavy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,344 ✭✭✭buyer95

Tristan Thompson came in and swung the momentum big time there. LeBron looked like himself, good intensity to game. Fun game so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,833 ✭✭✭NufcNavan

Scola should just retire. Like, now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,344 ✭✭✭buyer95

Thibs having a mental breakdown on sideline right now, getting destroyed on boards

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,344 ✭✭✭buyer95

Great effort from Cavs, they are really energised tonight. Offense is flowing beautifully, LeBron looks like he could go for 40

Cavs lead 58-52 at the half. Superb half for us. We're controlling the boards, Tristan is having a superb game and LeBron is back to his old self.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

Grizz top the Pacers 97-89 in the early game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,344 ✭✭✭buyer95

LeBron all over the place on defence, jumping lanes and gambling on the pass far too much

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,344 ✭✭✭buyer95

Irving throwing up brick after brick. Two unbelievable TOs for Cavs. Awful. Game, set...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,344 ✭✭✭buyer95

Captain Kirk is unconscious right now. Ain't over yet! Big turnaround, has that playoff feel to it!

    Crazy basket from LeBron, genius.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,344 ✭✭✭buyer95

Irving should have shot that off the pass, to dribble in that situation is just idiotic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

Tristan Thompson has 12 offensive boards:eek::cool:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,344 ✭✭✭buyer95

Tristan Thompson is God. 12 offensive rebounds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

Well that was a fun game. Cavs take it 114-108 in OT!:D

Well that should settle the Cavs a bit. Good win

Weird game. Bulls didn't play well in regulation, apart from Rose who then had to go out with his twisted ankle.

Then they should've won it, if Snell didn't foul Lebron on the inbounds up 5, with 45 seconds left. That was the killer, giving them the points while taking no time off the clock. Not gonna criticise Snell because he played well, defending Lebron well and scoring.

No real chance in overtime, begun it down 4 starters.

    - Lebron had an odd game too I thought, played a good first half. Went out of the game in the 2nd half, looked tired & asked to get subbed out of the game twice. Maybe just early season conditioning.

    - Never seen the Bulls give up so many offensive rebounds.

    - Didn't like Thibs player rotation, thought he could've used the bench better, gave up on McDermott & Mirotic early. Not enough offense at the end.

    - Hard to read too much into it, two teams still workings things out. Game probably came a bit early in the season.

Have watched the Bulls-Cavs games and Spurs - Suns games from last night.

i'd agree about LeBrons conditioning to some extent. I wonder is it anything to do with the change of diet he went through. Word is that Rose is okay as far as i know, was worried it was another disaster when he went into the locker room.

I was impressed with the Suns, they really slogged it out with San Antonio with Alex Len showing that he's actually a decent player when he wants to be. Isaiah Thomas will be a shoe-in for sixth man if he keeps playing like he currently is.

Watching Mavs v Pelicans because I've backed Mavs tonight. Spectacular offense in the first half from Dallas, this team is really good and really deep. They execute the pick and roll better than anyone in the league, either the pick and pop from Ellis Dirk, or the pick and roll lob pass to Chandler/Wright. Almost the perfect first half.
