id appreciate any advice on this , I was on o p f and I notified the dept that I have a new partner living with me . My claim was closed and i was told to apply for jobseekers , however it appears im now entitled to nothing , even tho I have dependant children and my new partner does not satisfy habitual resident clause . He has no income and no entitlements .It seems also I may have been overpaid on my o p f payment and I am now asked to assemble a lot of paperwork and come back , halfway thru inputting my application the lady at the desk had to get an inspector to come speak with me , I take it that is indeed a bad sign .

you can claim jobseekers or SWA, but of course you'll have to be looking for work.

Sounds to me as if your case has not yet been decided.

As DanDublin says it sounds as if nothing has been decided as yet.

Considering you have applied for what you may be entitled to you can apply for supplementary welfare allowance until a decision is made on your jobseekers claim.

To do this you'll need to visit your local DSP Representative (used to be called CWO). You'll find yours here: http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/otheroffice/community-welfare-office-contact.aspx
