Tax on pension drawn down from abroad.

    Does anybody on boards know which country taxes a private pension drawn down from a eu country.
    I live in ireland and my private pension will be paid from a eu country and deposited monthly into my irish bank acc.

    If you are resident in Ireland you pay Tax on the pension in Ireland. However determining your residency is not quite as simple as saying I live in Ireland, it depends on how many days you spend in the country.

    If you are determined to be resident in the state then you are liable to Tax on your worldwide income here.

    It is also posible that the other EU state may have some form of with-holding tax or PAYE system which deducts tax at source from your pension which you would need to address/action (ie. there are double tax treaties which may allow you to reclaim tax paid in that country).
