    Hi.
I'm living with my partner & 2 young kids. She works fulltime and l had part time 3 days a week. When l worked 3 days l recieved €78 from dole and if I worked less days I got more. If I had no work l got full 188.

Now I've become unemployed and they are claiming l can only get €96 a week?

Surely if I was entitled to full dole when I had no work for a week from part time job then I expected to get full dole now that l have no work at all

    Have you moved onto JSA?

Yes got my 1st cheque today for 96 euro which seems very low to me as I have 2kids and mortgage. When I was part time if I had 2 days work I would have got 104 from social welfare and now I have no work at all I get less? Surely theres a mistake somewhere here

Is your wife still working? If so check out family income supplement. It may be worth more to you then JA. You could sign off completely and she can apply for FIS.

Were you previously on jobseekers benefit- based on prsi contributions? And now you're on jobseekers allowance which is means tested...?

This seems the most likely scenario to me.
