iphone 5c question

This may be a bit of a stupid question but my sister is looking to buy an iphone 5c and on the Apple website it is priced at €399 whereas 02 are selling it at €500 and Three at €550.

If she bought it from the Apple website, what does she do next? Can she just bring it into a 3 store (which is the network she wants to join) and buy a sim card?

Is there some kind of catch? We were wondering why on earth would someone pay 100-150 euro more when they could get it much cheaper?

    Thanks :)

Yes, just bring it to the shop and get a sim. The price difference is down to stupidity on the carriers behalf. Sad Prof has a thread about it already on the first page.

Brilliant thanks! I presume she will have to get a sim card from somewhere else and the phones from apple are sim free?

Edit: whiterebel answered that question, thanks!

Just so you know Apple are only selling the 8GB 5c. Which is fairly useless these days.

Of course if your sister doesn't plan on having any music, or taking photos and video, 8GB might be OK.

If you're gonna spend €400 on a phone I'd just get a 5s on adverts. Plenty for sale, you'll have a better phone and at least 16gb storage.
Or save money and go for an iPhone 5, it's basically an iPhone 5c just not made of plastic...
