    Was intrigued by that movie the other night The Runway..about a colombian pilot who crashed landed near mallow in 1983

    anyone have any memories of it??

    btw- why didn't they just transport the plane down to cork airport??

    The road was not wide enough , and it was cheaper to build a runway and fly it out
