It would appear that Elly has now discovered she can jump! the consequence being our 5 foot fences are of little deterrent to her!

We have a limited (very small!!) budget to remedy this, as we have spent a fortune on wire mesh to put on the fences initially to stop Tara escaping. Does anyone have any tried and tested methods to stop a dog jumping the fence??

What do you actually have up now is it wire fencing or is it made of brick block or wood that could have something like an additional wire fence added to it to give increased height.
This company might be able to help you with wire panels which would be a cheaper way to source them than from say Woodies or somewhere like that.

The fence we have is post and rail, with a wire mesh meld on it. It's like chicken wire but much stronger.

I'm not a dog fence specialists and assuming you don't need to protect her against other dogs (i.e. spayed) would something like this work? The basic idea is the angle would make it difficult/impossible to get over the top so to speak even if they do get up there.

Is she clearing the fence straight in a jump? The rolling pin method might work. It's basically having a pvc pipe above the top of the fence on some strong wire running through it so when the dog tries to get purchase on the pipe, it turns and they cant grip it.
It's the second method in the link below (Ignore the first one, I can't imagine anyone actually thinking putting an electric wire along the fence is a humane idea!)
