Fibre Broadband Eircom or Vodafone

Looking at signing up for fibre broadband soon and kinda sorry i did not sign up for the Eircom family and friend offer in June at 30 euro per month. I am not too happy signing into another silly 18 month contract but it does not seem like i have any other option but to do so if i want fibre.

    Prices are

    Eircom 24(First Six) then 48 / month = 720 Total
    Vodafone 35 / month = 630 Total

I was not interested in the home phone so i was about to go the Vodafone route. I was not a happy customer last time i was with vodafone but i was hoping things had changed.

    Thing is after looking here

    What horrible feedback.

Am i better off just going with eircom?

Seems the vodafone rotuer is also pretty bad wifi.

Anyone got good or bad experience with vodafone fibre?

I have fibre with Vodafone and it's quite good. Hardwired directly into the router I get 95 download \ 19 upload and on wifi that's around 75 download \ 19 upload. One thing to note is that they say unlimited but it is in fact a 300 Gb combined upload\download limit, which to me defeats the purpose of having fibre broadband. You get charged for anything in excess of 300 Gb.

Go with whoever is cheaper. ..They all use the same lines.

    Disregard this.

If you use more than 300GB a month, avoid Vodafone since they charge for exceeding their fair usage policy. Eircom scrapped theirs apparently, I think they are the only ISP without a FUP.

Eircom might do a broadband-only package if you ring and ask them.
