Great to see Archer starting ahead of Botha! He's come such a long way since that game against Leinster A in Donnybrook a couple of seasons ago where I genuinely feared for his safety against Jack McGrath.

Sale's results in the Aviva haven't been great this season with only two wins (London Welsh and against a weakened Wasps) from six games.

I watched a bit of them against Northampton last weekend and Saints didn't have to work hard for their first two tries, I turned it off after that.

Munster should have enough for them, and if they've any wish to do well in the comp a big one is needed.

  • Barely recognise a name on the Sale team. Think Munster will win this anyway.

Munster should win. I can't see Sarries or Clermont slacking off against Sale, so we can't afford to either. We have underperformed in these kind of fixtures before, but a BP should be achievable.

Murray practising his place-kicking again, always good to see there's an option in case of freakish injuries on the day.

I do have to say I don't like our red shorts. Navy/Black is the way to go.

A lively opening 2 mins from Sale.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

And a monster clearance from Murray, he's so good at those type of kicks.

And lovely pass from Cipriani to Leota, but our centres should be shutting that gap. Penalty Sale at the scrum :(

Not surprised Sale are playing like a team insulted at being written off.

This is their yard and I hope they go well.

Showed intent to go down on the line, but we just beat them up from then on.... the drive from POM was class. Looked like Killer definitely got in.

Absolutely fantastic steal from POM at the lineout, just ripped it out of his hands. Good move, before done for crossing.

And then they almost caught us out there, another great clearing kick from Murray though.

    What a kick by Murray.

Nice sly box to the ribs on POM there

They seem to be exposing our outside channel... not sure if it was Smith that time, but they've made a few too many linebreaks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Surely a swinging arm there from Sale player at the ruck?

Munster midfield has been porous all season. To be expected with new combinations but they need to tighten up. Most teams have made a couple of big line breaks through the centres this season.

He cynically went straight off his feet and prevented the ball coming back quickly. He was lucky he wasn't penalised for it. Never tried to stay on his feet at all.

Robson hates Munster for remarking Liotta causing carnage. The vitriol.

If Sale can do it, Sarries and Clermont will be punching massive holes. Smith's got caught a few times in the last few weeks.

Indeed. Different referee would have pulled him right up on it and given him a warning. As it stands, this referee isn't too hot on it so he may as well live dangerously and kill the ball. He'll get hit for it. Sale tried the same on their own line before the try and the defender was danced on by about 3 players.

I admire this ref for coming back from that horror leg break but I wonder was it wise.

Possible new ref now, new interpretations.

The amount of wasted time this half is ridiculous! It took the video ref 2 mins to find a clip. New look heino cup looking amateur so far!

Indeed. Going to be interesting. Could be a guy looking to make a mark coming into the game. We'll know soon enough.

The less experienced he is, the more I'd expect POC and POM to exert influence though.

Penalty against Killer in the scrum.

That's 2 against our front row so far. Not good.
