Ok, so my Mondeo has gone to that great scrap dealer in the sky
Have approx. 3-4k to spend on its replacement.

    I commute 50 miles a day, 5 days a week, so I'm thinking I still need a diesel.

Ideally looking for a 2004 up, 4 door, 100k max, 2ltr or under

Currently looking at Saabs 9-3, Volvo S60, the usual Passat\Audi\BMW

Bored with Ford, don't like French cars, even looking at skoda Octavia.

Really want a small but roomy car!

ideas please, will only hopefully be for a couple of years, hence looking at saabs!

Small but roomy? May I suggest a tardis?

But seriously, I've had a vw Jetta for 2 and a half years. It's the 105hp TDI. Very economical and can move when you need it!

Plenty of room front and back too. They're not for every one (bit bland) but test drive one at least

This is water. Inspiring speech by David Foster Wallace https://youtu.be/DCbGM4mqEVw?si=GS5uDvegp6Er1EOG

Thanks, just the blandness puts me off, I'll be doing 12k a year so I want something to put a smile on my face.
    Any other suggestions?
