Boots/shoes to wear with slim leg/skinny trousers

Now that winter is here...what shoes do you wear with slim leg work trousers that will keep your feet warm? With skinny jeans I just tuck in boots, but that doesn't look right with work trousers. Looking for flats which is harder to avoid "nine iron" effect !

    Thanks

I've started wearing pop socks with my loafer style flats and skinny trousers for work, keep you surprisingly warm!!

    Would you wear brogues?

I've been wondering the same thing. Also with skinny jeans I seem to have a bulking effect of the fabric around the boot. Any idea of jeans that are tight at the ankleor how to avoid?

You need to buy the super skinny jeans I think. I'm not sure if that's quite the name for them, but they need to be tight around the ankle, not loose like a peg leg jean/straight cut jeans. When I first started buying skinny jeans, I was buying more slim/straight leg jeans & it always looked wrong with boots, but then I started buying the really tight skinny ones, but ones with plenty of elastaine so they stretch to fit. I also have to make sure they are not too long as even just folding them under will start creating that bulking effect, especially with ankle boots.

I've been avoiding super skinny because I'm a size 14 but maybe I need to try on a few pairs

+1 for brogues - they go with most things and look great with slim leg/skinny trousers!

don't feel that because you are a size 14 that you can't wear skinny jeans! If you get a pair that fit you well & are good quality, they will still look great on you. Try on as many pairs from as many shops as you can & see which ones you feel most comfortable in.

Thanks for the ideas... Not sure about brogues as I am not cool enough so they might look silly, plus I have feet like shovels!

I am FAR from cool. Honestly! I'm 33 and by no means a hipster. I wear brogues with lots of things - trousers, dresses, skirts - and they look good and are very comfy!

    I have these: https://www.shoeembassy.com/brick-lane-amber

    And these: http://www.hudsonshoes.com/magee-black.html

Both very comfy and versatile. The Hudson ones are definitely stocked in Ireland - seen them in Dublin - and they've a good range: http://www.hudsonshoes.com/h-womens/shoes.html

    I also have the Trinity ones....oops, I may have a problem! :D
