Got a letter from Teagasc this morning advising me to attend a sprayer training course in a centre nearest me, thirty miles down the road for three days! This has to be done before registration on 26th Nov..
I'm not going to go into ' spraying for a lifetime mode' but very seriously considering ignoring this.. Just wondering what others have in mind, I'm getting very tired of the continuing erosion of choices that we have as to how we farm.

Where about in Agfood do we register spraying devices?
I've applied for some Courses (trying to fit around holidays), my understanding is we've to be Certified (Licenced) to buy the chemical, & Distributors have to be licenced to sell. Alternative option is get a Contractor.
The Grandfather Rule is to be removed too (supposedly).

That's my understanding as well, be certified to buy the chemical I mean, guess its the stick rather than the carrot approach ...I've got a nice sprayer here, all bells and whistles only a couple years old, would think bad of getting the contractor with an expensive piece of kit lying idle... So, I reckon I just consider my arm twisted and go for it..

Not familiar with the Grandfather rule either, I might look like one but I suppose that won't count...:)
